Developing an E-commerce Platform
From 29 April to 14 May 2001, an International UN Volunteer (IUNV) from the Italian association of senior volunteers, Seniores Italia, served in Paraguay under UNV’s Corporate Sector Program. The IUNV assisted CEPAE, a government institution dependent on the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in developing an e-commerce platform which would allow local industries to become involved in international export. The IUNV first surveyed various government ministries in order to gain an understanding of Paraguay’s commercial situation, and then submitted a proposal of a list of companies to be included in the web page.
