ICT Training
From 2002 to 2003, a National UN Volunteer (NUNV) under the Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) trained students in computer literacy and programming. During the assignment she received further training from Cisco, which enabled her to achieve the certification “Cisco Certified Network Associate”. Along with two colleagues, she trained about fifty students in the Cisco Program, both Polytechnic students and professionals, and helped others attain basic computer knowledge which would prepare them to join the CNAP at a later time.

Support in ICT Use
In the context of a National Government project, two National UN Volunteers (NUNVs), funded by the Japanese Trust Fund, identified target communities and provided these with ICT installations. From June 2002 to 2003, the NUNVs also helped relevant groups such as grassroots organizations, small businesses and doctors to benefit from the Internet and other ICTs.
