World Links for Development Programme (WorLD)
This program, managed by the World Bank, helps countries to
develop sustainable solutions for mobilizing the equipment, training,
educational resources and school-to-school partnerships required
to bring students in developing countries online and into the
global community. It links thousands of students and teachers
in in developing countries with their counterparts in industrialized
countries and elsewhere, for collaborative research, teaching
and learning projects.

Establishment of a network of community telecenters in Jordan.
Volunteers affiliated with UNITeS have been involved since
the start of the large programme, working in the first Center
opened in Safawi, in the Northern Badia, a desert area in the
Northeast, and in providing expertise gained in another telecenter
project in Egypt.

Support to the Lesotho´s Leland initiative
The Government of Lesotho will receive assistance from USAID
to set up the basic infrastructure for a national Internet gateway
designed to ensure the availability of reliable, cost-effective
and competitive internet services in the country. The objective
is to promote widespread access and utilization of the internet
to facilitate the attainment of national sustainable development
goals.

HIV/AIDS Prevention and Women and Girls Empowerment through
Access to Information and Education
This pilot project, supported by the United Nations Foundation,
will provide access to critical information and education to
underserved urban and rural communities in the Asia Pacific region.
The focus of the project is HIV/AIDS Prevention and Women's and
Girls' Empowerment with a later expansion to other sustainable
development topics important to the community. The pilot phase
of the project entails establishing 800 sites in Nepal.
