Expanding Access to ICT Training
In 2001, an International UN Volunteer (IUNV), funded by the Japanese
Trust Fund, supported the Asociación de Cooperación
Internacional y Entrenamiento in its “Mobile Informatics” project.
The project aims to provide basic computer training to community
leaders, single mothers, youth and semi-rural community teachers
who do not have direct access to this type of training.
Web Design, Training and Capacity Building in ICT
Since April 2004, two National UN Volunteers (NUNVs) have been working
with the CERCA project to set up a database and data archives with
information about certain municipalities, thus facilitating the
provision of socio-economic
information to local stakeholders. The NUNVs have designed and installed
websites for the Santa Rosa de Copán Municipality and the
Inter-municipal Council for management of River Higuito Basin and
offered training
and consultation on their use. They will continue the assignment
until March
2005.
Training, Net Maintenance and Modernization
From September to February 2002, as part of the National Committee of
the International Year of Volunteers (IYV) 2001, an International UN Volunteer
from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid helped to design, develop and
maintain the official IYV website, which cators to volunteers in Honduras.
Additionally the IUNV provided assistance to the users of the system and
offered training in updating information on the website.
From September to February 2002, another IUNV from the Universidad
Autonoma de Madrid was part of the project team 'Support to Management,
