The Internet has provided a great way to search for news articles
relating to a particular subject... if you can figure out how to
find such articles!
The most successful non-profits and NGOs are those that communicate
regularly with other organizations, businesses, office holders and
the media. If others know what an organization is doing, they will
refer potential supporters, resources and clients to that organization.
It will also allow more and more people to know of the impact your
organization has on the community. Online Volunteers can help by researching
contact information for similarly-focused organizations, government
office holders, local business owners, and so forth.
Agencies often need help identifying possible grant opportunities
and supporters. These resources can help you use the Internet to research
grant opportunities, including online funding/e-commerce opportunities.
The Internet TESL Journal (ITESLJ) includes articles, research papers, lesson
plans, classroom handouts, teaching ideas and links to even more resources.
Articles and resources include "The ESL Teacher's Role in Heritage

Various departments and initiatives of the United Nations (UN) produce
free email newsletters. These newsletters, collectively, cover a range
of topics: educational resources for young students, world heritage
sites, environmental policy, health, gender issues, and, of course,
ICT for development, to name but a few. When taking on an Online Vvolunteering
assignment with an organization in a developing country, read through
this list and see if there are newsletters that might help you in
your tasks.
