Organizations that engage volunteers in information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D) initiatives can submit profiles of these activities to our Knowledge Base section on ICT Volunteer contributions to Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Individual volunteers engaged or previously engaged in ICT4D are encouraged to write their own profiles to our Knowledge Base section on ICT Volunteer contributions to Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Volunteers who are engaged in ICT4D or were engaged in such, regardless of their host organization, are welcomed to participate in the online UNITeSCommunity and contribute to the growing of the UNITeS Knowledge Base for Volunteers in ICT4D. Returned volunteers are also encouraged to continue their participation as Online Volunteers.

Both organizations and individuals can contribute by reminding media contacts about UNITeS and the importance of volunteers to ICT4D efforts.

Organizations engaged in ICT4D efforts can cover some or all of the costs of involving a University Volunteer under UNITeS in their project.

Companies from the private sector can contribute by encouraging employees to be Online Volunteers in support of ICT4D efforts, reminding media contacts about UNITeS and the importance of volunteers to ICT4D efforts, mobilizing employees-on-loan to short-term ICT4D efforts through UNITeS to UNV (several of these corporate employee volunteer contributions are profiled on our web site), donating equipment to ICT4D efforts involving UN Volunteers, donating technology or logistical services (such as air travel) to UNV-affiliated ICT4D efforts; or by providing financial contributions to UNITeS through UNV (governed by standard UN rules and regulations).

Universities can provide fully-funded or partially-funded volunteers from the ranks of their graduate students, faculty or staff to ICT4D efforts affiliated with UNV and UNITeS.
