Strengthening IT Capacity
Since March 2004, a National UN Volunteer (NUNV) on a one-year contract has been serving as Program Coordinator for "Comunidade Ativa". In cooperation with "Comunidade Ativa", UNV is undertaking a project to strengthen IT capacities in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. The objective is to create universal access to Information Technologies in the communities through training activities. The NUNV, based in Itaquiraí, is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the project, which includes evaluating the development of IT use in the region as well as elaborating appropriate training for the promotion of local income-generating activities.
